Overall, it was a great trip. Explorient was well organized and true to their word. The guides were knowledgable and accomodating. The tour included a private min-van driving from DaNang to Hanoi (15 hours) with the giude accompaning us all the way. The guide made the long hard trip very interresting. We got to see the country first hand, but would not recommend driving unless you overnight along the way and take time to enjoy the beaches.

Description: The essential Indochina tour shows you the best of Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos - known as Indochina under the rule of the French. You will visit sites of ancient civilizations, Royal Palaces and colonial cities all amongst staggering scenery.

Laos is a relaxed, laid back country, which still has many French influences and a deeply religious population. Lines of monks on their morning alms round are one of the sights of Laos. Cambodia has had more than its share of troubles in recent history but has come through to claim it's place in the tourist pantheon - mainly due to the fantastic ruins of Angkor Wat.

DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1 - Arrival Hanoi - Vietnam

You will be welcomed by staff of Vietnam Explorient Travel on arrival. Transfer to the airport and check in hotel in Hanoi. in the evening, enjoy the welcome dinner in the finest local restaurant in town.

Meals: Dinner.

Day 2 - Hanoi – Halong bay Cruise

After breakfast, you will have over 3 hours drive along the country side of the Red River Delta to the UNESCO world’s heritage site of Halong Bay.

A traditional style Vietnamese Junk Cruise is waiting your arrival and will set sail at noon today. Lunch will be served on board amidst spectacular views of the bay.

Today you will visit one of the largest caves in Halong Bay and a beach stop where perhaps you may want to take a swim or dip in the water of the South China Sea. Tonight enjoy a fresh seafood dinner on board your junk.

Day 3 - Halong Bay Cruise - Hanoi

Participate in Tai Chi on the top deck or simply watch the sunrise over the magnificent bay. Enjoy your morning cup of coffee or juice before setting out to the near- by cave on row boat.

Return back to the Cruise, where breakfast is served, while sailing around Bay Tu Long bay where the film “Indochine” was made. Your cruise will end at noontime and our driver will welcome you back and then take a drive to Hanoi.

Day 4 : Hanoi city tour

Have breakfast in the hotel and enjoy a full day City Tour. The visit includes most of the city's outstanding historical and cultural sites.

Temple of Literature, built in 11th Century and the country’s first University
The complex of Ho Chi Minh historical sites, also called the political center of Vietnam.
HCM’s Stilt House and One Pillar Pagoda
Visit one of the museum in Hanoi (Museum of History, Museum of Ethnology,
Museum of Fine Art, Hoa Lo prison which is also known as the “Hanoi Hilton”

Evening highlight is with Water Puppet Show - the traditional performance dated 11th century.

Day 5 - Hanoi - Vientiane

Take the morning flight to Vientiane. On arrival, our guide and driver will meet you at the airport and pick you to hotel in Vientiane. Rest of the day, just relax or take the pleasant walk around your hotel area.

Day 6 - Vientiane City Tour

Today, there will be a tour of Vientiane. Although Vientiane is the capital city, it has the feel of a small provincial town. The wide boulevards are almost devoid of traffic and with its temples, the city retains the feel of another age. Our tour includes visits to the major temples of Vat Sisaket, Vat Phrakeo and the impressive That Luang Stupa, the country? most important monument. We will also see the Arch of Triumph, the National Museum and the main market. In the evening, following the meal you can enjoy an evening stroll along the banks of the Mekong River.

Day 7 - Vientiane - Siem Reap - Angkor Tour

Have breakfast in the hotel and take the morning flight to Siem Reap. On arrival, our guide and driver will pick you from the airport for hotel in Siem Reap.

Afternoon, we visit Angkor Thom temples: Victory Gate, Bayon, Baphuon, Phimean Akas, Elephant Terrace and Leper King Terrace, Takeo and TaProhm. Lunch served at local restaurant. Afternoon enjoy the spectacular architecture and sculpture of the World Heritage at Angkor Wat and view the sunset over the Angkor complex on the top of Phnom Bakheng Mt.

Accommodation: Hotel in Siem Reap.

Day 8 - Siem Reap - Angkor wat

Enjoy Angkor Wat Sunrise and spend the whole morning to explore the greatest fine-art of Angkor Empire at Banteay-Srey temple. Lunch at local Restaurant. Afternoon visit the grand circuit of temples: Prasat Kravan, Banteay Kdei, Sras Srong, Neak Poan, Eastern Mebon, Pre Rup and Preah Khan.

Accommodation: Hotel in Siem Reap.

Day 9 - Siem Reap - Departure

Free in your own until your departure time. Driver will transfer you to the airport for your departure.
